Direct Debit Marathon walk in memory of Nan

Direct Debit Marathon walk in memory of Nan

Our very own Joe Ashdown is walking a 26 mile marathon in memory of his Nan, Betty.

Betty lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer 2 years ago, and Joe has decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK in her memory.

Joe is one of the administrators at Eazipay, those of you who are his clients will know him. He is walking the Marathon this Saturday, 28th September in London.

Shine London is a unique Marathon as it is set in the middle of the night. Joe and his sisters will join 13 000 other charity walkers on the evening. People get dressed up in all sorts of bright and glowing clothes for the event, as they walk around London, past all the famous landmarks.
Shine London is a 26 mile fundraising walk through the streets of London in the middle of the night, which aims to raise money for research into new treatments for all types of cancer.

“Around 23 people hear they have Pancreatic cancer every day”, comments, Joe, “and due to late diagnosis, survival rates remain very low. My Nan, sadly, lost her battle to the disease in April 2011 at the age of 76.

“She was a caring and popular character within the Ely community and we thought walking the Shine marathon would be a great way to honour her memory and help others in their battle against cancer.”

To show your support to Joe, and help raise funds for Cancer Research UK, please go to http://www.justgiving.com/josephashdown. All monies raised will go direct to Cancer Research UK.
