Eazipay backs the Great Daffodil Appeal

Eazipay backs the Great Daffodil Appeal

Eazipay Ltd, a leading Direct Debit processing company based in Cambridgeshire, has announced its support of Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Great Daffodil Appeal.

From 1st to 30th April 2011, Eazipay, one of the fastest growing Direct Debit bureaus in the country, will be donating 6p to Marie Curie Cancer Care for every new Direct Debit that is set up on behalf of its customers.

The Great Daffodil Appeal is the biggest fundraising event of the year for Marie Curie Cancer Care, which works tirelessly to ensure terminally ill patients receive the best possible care, including the option of being cared for in their own homes.

Eazipay is supporting the campaign through a ‘Driving Donations’ promotion organised by BACS, the governing body for Direct Debit, which is aiming to raise £250,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Luisa Grey, Eazipay’s Director, comments, “We’re delighted to be supporting the Great Daffodil Appeal through our association with BACS.

“Marie Curie Cancer Care is a wonderful charity, which relies heavily on charitable donations and all of the money raised throughout this campaign will enable the Marie Curie Nurses to provide more free care to terminally ill people in their own homes.

“Additionally, through the BACS ‘Driving Donations’ promotion, anyone who signs up to Direct Debit through one of our customers during April will be entered into a prize draw to win a brand new Renault Clio. Direct Debit is a safe a reliable payment method and gives people the chance to control their finances. By supporting this campaign, people will not only be able to save money but raise money for such a worthwhile cause at the same time.”

Despite increasingly difficult market conditions Eazipay, which was recently awarded ‘Affiliate’ status from BACS, has seen its turnover increase in the last two years and is currently providing regular Direct Debit services to over 600 companies in a wide range of market sectors throughout the UK, Europe and beyond.

In January 2011, the company recorded its best ever month for Direct Debit collections when a record £8.9 million worth of Direct Debits were processed on behalf of its clients during the month.

Eazipay presses all the right buttons for Absolute Numbers

Absolute Numbers is a leading provider of telecommunications products, specialising in telemarketing numbers and call handling solutions. Based in Chichester, the company has been in business for eight years and has around 300 commercial clients.

Absolute Numbers’ owner, Clive Arden-Brown, explains how Eazipay’s Direct Debit services have helped improve its cash flow and cut costs. "When I started Absolute Numbers, I knew I wanted to set up Direct Debits for my customers, but I wasn't sure how to go about it. I approached my bank to see if they could help, but, as a start-up business, I didn't have sufficient turnover for them to be interested.

"My next step was to look on the Internet and ask around for recommendations. Eazipay came up on
more than one occasion, and always with glowing references, so I thought I’d see what they had to offer.

“I sat down with Luisa Grey, the company’s Director, and it very soon became clear that we could do business. Not only do Luisa and her team run a very efficient ship at Eazipay but they also have a real passion for customer service and getting things right first time.

"As you can imagine, when your cash flow depends on a third party taking the right amount of money out of your customers’ accounts and putting it into yours, accuracy is quite important! Over the many years I've worked with Eazipay they’ve proved themselves to be second to none when it comes to attention to detail.

“But Eazipay offer us so much more than simply collecting outstanding payments. The fact that I can put my Direct Debits in the hands of someone I trust completely means I can focus my attention on growing the business. I don't have to worry about wrong amounts being collected or collections being missed altogether.

"I also know that when I send an invoice out, it will get paid on time, provided that there’s enough money in the client’s account. There's no opportunity for them to delay payment, whether by accident or design.

“And if there is a problem, Eazipay let me know straight away; they’re extremely pro-active. This allows us to raise the issue with the client within 24 hours of a payment being missed rather than the weeks it can sometimes take under a conventional payment system.

"As a result, my cash flow is secure. My costs are reduced too. Currently around 50 per cent of my customers pay by Direct Debit. These 50 per cent take up just 10 per cent of my accounts department’s time. The other 90 per cent is spent servicing the other half of my clients.

"It's not hard to imagine the cost implications if none of my clients paid by Direct Debit. In some cases, we'd still be chasing payment months after it was due.

"At some point, I hope that Absolute Numbers will be big enough to have its own Direct Debit Service User status. But even then, we'd be using Eazipay's ‘Commercial Bureau’ service offering to help us to manage the operation and allow all collected monies to come direct to us.

Flexibility is the key for ‘énergie Group’

Flexibility is the key for ‘énergie Group’

Fitness club franchise business, the énergie Group, is able to offer its franchisees instant cost
savings thanks to Eazipay’s flexible approach to Direct Debit.

The Milton Keynes based company has over 80 franchised clubs in the UK, Europe and beyond. It operates under brands such as énergie fitness clubs, énergie fitness for women and fit4less and is the fastest growing fitness club franchise business in the UK.

For Eazipay, meanwhile, fitness clubs have always been an exceptionally good fit. Sports and fitness is an industry that, by its very nature, has thousands of people paying on an annual or monthly basis and using Direct Debit to manage this process is the obvious choice.

What stands out for Steve McNeil, énergie group’s Commercial Manager, however, is Eazipay’s
willingness to adapt to the changing needs of its clients.

“When énergie first began, it was clear that we’d need a Direct Debit capacity straight away. For all the usual reasons, guaranteed cash flow, administration savings and the like, Direct Debit was an important part of our franchise offer.

“Direct Debit was also important to us at énergie HQ. We needed to take franchise monies from our business owners and there was no better way of ensuring regular payments.

“As we began to grow – our 80 clubs have nearly 40,000 members paying by Direct Debit – we did wonder if we’d become sufficiently big enough to become a Direct Debit service user in our own right.

This would involve meeting the BACS criteria and having Eazipay process our Direct Debits through their Commercial Bureau.

“We weren’t quite sure how they’d react. After all, we were approaching them with a proposition that would involve a cost saving for us and less business for them.

“As it turned out, they couldn’t have been more helpful. They were incredibly flexible in all our discussions and took immense time and trouble to ensure that the system we ended up with was the one that was best for us, not for them.

“énergie was a small company that grew very quickly into a much bigger one. Throughout our evolution we’ve always worked with Eazipay and they’ve been there for us every step of the way.
“Whether it was a case of re-presenting a Direct Debit request, Eazipay’s extremely proactive
management keeping us in the picture, or the pay as you go fee structure, which saved us large sums of money as we got bigger, they’ve been terrific.

“If you’re a business that collects one Direct Debit or 40,000, Eazipay will give you as much service and customer support as you need. I know, because that’s exactly what they’ve given us.”

Making it Look Eazi

Making it look Eazi

EAZIPAY Ltd, a leading Direct Debit processing company, based in Cambridgeshire, has just been awarded ‘Affiliate’ status from BACS, the governing body for Direct Debit processing in the payments industry.

As a BACS Affiliate, Eazipay will now have a say in the future of electronic payment processing in the UK as well as being able to attend meetings of the Affiliates Interest Group (AIG) to discuss a wide range of industry topics and receive briefings on, and have an opportunity to influence and analyse, the impact of any forthcoming regulatory changes for the benefit of its clients and customers.

Eazipay now joins an exclusive group of 38 other BACS Affiliates, which includes representatives from some of the UK’s leading businesses, banks and building societies, as well as government organisations and a variety of banking technology providers.

Commenting, Luisa Grey, Eazipay’s director, said: “We’re delighted to have achieved BACS Affiliate status.
“As a member of the Affiliate group we can now give our input into topical debates on themes including regulatory change and developments to payment processing schemes. “It also gives us the chance to brief BACS and other Affiliates on pertinent industry issues and will become an excellent outlet for networking and forging deeper relationships across the industry.”

Eazipay Ltd, which has become one of the fastest growing Direct Debit bureaus in the country, has already been accredited as a BACS Approved Bureau. To gain this status the company’s Direct Debit collection services were rigorously inspected and demonstrates that its operational processes and knowledge and expertise not only meet, but exceed, exacting industry standards.

Despite increasingly difficult market conditions the company has seen its turnover increase in the last two years and is currently providing regular Direct Debit services to more than 600 companies in a wide range of market sectors throughout the UK, Europe and beyond.
